The Paris climate agreement aims to limit the global temperature increase to 1.5 degrees Celsius if possible, but in any case to well below two degrees Celsius compared with the pre-industrial era. This is the only way to ensure that development is resilient to the consequences of climate change. The building sector is one of the largest CO2 emitters. On average, real estate accounts for 60 percent of climate-damaging CO2 emissions in cities around the world.
The decarbonization required to achieve this goal will require major joint efforts by all stakeholders in the real estate industry to implement climate-neutral projects in the future or to modernize the existing building stock in a climate-optimized way.
Innovative approaches to solutions and initial practical examples will be shown and explained to participants at EXPO REAL 2023 by suppliers, startups, innovative construction companies and other experts. For this purpose, the new presentation area EXPO REAL Decarb will be available for the first time at EXPO REAL 2023.
